Baby leaf

Ensure optimal yields with an optimal supply of nutrients

Basic Information

Baby leaf lettuce is highly suitable for salad bags. Therefore shelf life, diversity and taste are very important. The plants are directly sown and are harvested in a young stage to acquire taste and the correct size. To obtain good parameters, a special fertilizer program is needed.

Detailed Description

Unlike agricultural crops, leafy vegetables are harvested at a midpoint of vegetative growth. Therefore, fertilization must be adequate and at a precise time to meet the demands for nutrients. To ensure an optimal yield with maximum quality, an optimal supply of potassium is necessary. Most vegetables have a high demand for potassium. As most vegetables are sensitive to chloride, fertilizers with a low chloride content (below 2 % chloride) should be used. Nearly the complete portfolio of COMPO EXPERT has a very low content of chloride. Vitanica® RZ applied at transplanting promotes healthy and strong roots to cope with the fast rate of growing.
