Basic Information

The cucumber is an annual climbing herbaceous plant, reaching up to 3,5 meters in height. It has a very powerful root system, which has to be very active to reach its maximum productive potential.
The balanced management of climatic factors is essential for the proper functioning of the crop. All factors are closely related and the performance of one of these affects the rest. For the optimum development of the crop, the soil temperature should be between 18-20 º C. It is a plant with high humidity requirements due to its large leaf area, the optimum relative humidity during the day is 60-70%. The cucumber can be grown in any type of soil with a loose structure, well drained and with enough organic matter. It is moderately tolerant to salinity, so that if the concentration of salts in the soil is too high, plants have difficulty to absorb the irrigation water. This crop can suffer severe root damage on soils infested by rhizophage nematodes.

Detailed Description

NovaTec^® Solub BS incorporates the beneficial bacteria P.G.P.R. (Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) that promotes plant growth through nutrient solubilization and biostimulation. The unique synergistic bacteria mixture of COMPO EXPERT is continuously applied together with the fertilizer to ensure its presence and promote growth in the root environment. Hakaphos^® Calcidic is a complete fertilizer balanced in nitrogen, potassium and calcium. Its high content of calcium (Ca) improves plant nutrition and soil structure. It also increases the quality of the harvested product as well as as the post-harvest life. In addition to being totally soluble in water, its high acidity helps to prevent the clogging of drippers and promotes the absorption of micro-elements and phosphorus. The application of these technologies to the crop contributes to generate a strong and healthy root system, which is necessary to achieve a higher performance with maximum safety and quality for the harvest. This implies an improvement of the vegetative growth, with a greater number of internodes, an increase in the leaf area and a greater length of buds, which leads to a better flowering and a greater production of fruits. To achieve a proper and good quality yield, cucumbers require large roots to be able to cope with the high water demand of the plant. Basfoliar^® Kelp SL applied foliar every can enhance the root system. In combination with Vitanica^® Si it enhances the water management of the plant and improves the crop performance.
