Complete, efficient and immediate nutrition that generates profits

Basic Information

The dates prefers warm temperatures. It likes light and dry climates. It is resistant to cold, heat and drought. The requirements for the soil are not demanding, however, it does not tolerate swamp and heavy alkaline soil. It can grow on plain and sandy soils, in valleys or on mountains. The suitable pH ranges from 5.5 up to 8.5. However, the date palm prefers a fertile, slightly alkaline or neutral sandy loam. The palm developes a deep root system and has a strong tillering ability. Jujube is grown in mountain, hill or plain areas up to an altitude of 1700 meters. It belongs to the group of thermophile fruit trees.

Detailed Description

The nutritional demands of date cultivation are extremely special, due to the production conditions. Particularly the mainly sandy soils, with a high percentage of leaching, require a highly efficient supply of nutrients, with stable sources of nitrogen, soluble phosphorus and potassium of rapid assimilation. The nutrient requirement of date trees varies with its growth period. During the germination and flowering period, more nitrogen is absorbed. If the nitrogen supply is insufficient, the growth of developing branches and the fruit branches is blocked, and flower bud differentiation is poor. The absorption of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium increases in the flowering stage, the peak of the root growth is in the young fruit stage, and the peak of nutrient demand is in the fruit expansion stage. If the growth of the fruit is disturbed through lack of nutrients, the fruit will drop. The period from fruit maturity to defoliation is the period when the tree accumulates and stores nutrients, but it still needs to absorb a certain amount of nutrients.

COMPO EXPERT recommends DuraTec® after picking as a base application, which contributes to the accumulation of tree nutrients. This enhances the sprouting and blooming early in the next year.

We offer NovaTec® Solub 21 and Basfoliar® Kelp SL for the period of drip irrigation, as it improves the development of the root system and enhances a rapid leaf development. In this period, we also spray Basfoliar® Kelp SL and zinc to help the blade unfold and prevent petioles. Before flowering, we apply NovaTec® Solub 20-19-19. Additionally, we offer boron and high phosphorus foliar fertilizer to enhance flowering and flower bud differentiation.
For the young fruit stage, we offer Basfoliar® CaMg SL and NovaTec® Solub as water-soluble fertilizer and spray Basfoliar® Kelp SL and CaMg to the fruit surface, which enhances the fruit growth and prevents cracking. Before the fruit color stage, we offer NovaTec® Solub, the spray Basfoliar® Kelp SL, and Fetrilon® Combi 2, which boost coloring.
